GOD EATERS HARDCOPY!!!!

Ooooh I'm so excited! *dances around* Bear with me if I'm a little disorganized, I'm just too hyped to make sense!

'The God Eaters' is now available in print!

I know it took forever and ever, there were a zillion confusions and delays, but it's finally ready! It's listed in 'Books in Print' and can be ordered by any bookstore!

Here's the Lulu link. It's cheapest there, but because I marked the content as 'mature', you have to be logged in and set your 'preferred content access level' to 'mature' before you can see it. This is a pain, but if you want the best price, go ahead and set up an account. They don't spam.

Here are some other links where you can find it:

Powell's Books (I love these guys.)
Barnes & Noble
Amazon

Or, of course, you could ask your local bookstore to order it for you. ^_^

I'm sorry it's so expensive; Lulu's base price is over $13 a copy. The trade paperback is good quality, though. It's a hefty brick, too; you could beat somebody up with it. :D

Thanks so much for being so patient, everyone, and I hope you enjoy having GE on paper!

Oh, Jesse, it looks BEAUTIFUL. I'll be ordering it the very first minute I can. Congratulations!!

When I read this, I literally jumped up and down in my chair. So awesome, I can't begin to tell you how thrilled I am! Also, my spine thanks you (uncomfortable computer chair + inability to quit reading God Eaters half-way through = very sore back) ^_^

And dude, you don't need to apologize for it being expensive! You've been offering it for free, for God's sake! Plus, I'd be willing to pay a looooot more for it than what you're currently charging. ...To tell the truth, I feel bad that you're not really making any money out of this :\ I mean, if the base price is 13 bucks then you're only getting 3 dollars out of it. Add in the over-priced shipping (17 dollars for one book is a bit steep), and it really feels like you're on the losing side here. I'm sorry, if I wasn't an unemployed bum I'd send you decent payment for the book. I really love it and think it's worth it; it's one of my absolute favorite books, y'know.

Heh, actually I only get $2; Lulu takes a cut. And other retailers take a cut too, so if you buy it from, say, Amazon, I only make $1.17.

Woohoo, I'm a buy me a whole pizza! And maybe a beer! :D :D :D

I love the idea of having it in print buuut... is this the variety with illustrations.

Wed, Aug. 30th, 2006 10:02 pm (UTC)
[info]gomichan

Nope, this is not the illustrated one. I have absolutely no idea when that'll come. Sorry, I don't mean to con people into buying two versions, I just wanted to get something out there since the illustrated one is on indefinite hold. It could be a year or two.

No prob, I was gonna' buy this one anyway, just to have it in print. Nothing wrong with buying a second of something good.

Also, congrats. ^___^

Powells is awesome! Have you ever been there? One of the biggest things I miss about the Northwest.

Anyways, OMGYAY! >_< I can't order it now, since I'm more than flat broke, but when I have an extra $25 I'll grab it :D So..in like four months... ^_^;

YAY!

I have indeed been there, and I loved it to bits. Seebs's mom lives in Denver, so we go there whenever we visit her.

I haven't been there in forever, but this is Portland Powells we're talking about, yeah? Because I know theres a Denver-like-name place in Oregon, but I can't help but think of Colorado immediately...

:D The WALL OF MANGA is what first drew me (right by the coffee shop, too!) but what's neatest are those library-like rooms completely dedicated to their sections. The YA area was so cool XD

[info]gomichan

No, there's one in Denver, Colorado. It's 4 stories tall. *swoon*

Woohoo! That's so awesome. And hey, now your fans can pimp to our luddite friends too!

I think the price is pretty reasonable actually. And with all the work you've put into it too... :}

Ooh, yay, yes, pimpage! <3

Major kudos!

And of course, now I'm sorely tempted to order it in at McNally's, if only because once you ask them to order in something they don't carry they start carrying it. 8D Must save up scratch monies for a hardcopy.

I think a number of stores do that, so if you can stand the wait, please to do so! ^_^

Dude. I'm so gonna need to get ahold of a copy of that! (: Congrats on getting it published!

[info]draxienne

HA! I ordered it on Amazon.de (the German site) and it was only 20 Euro (or a little more...)

Lulu wanted 33 bucks from me... What I'm saying is, anybody outside the US should order it from Amazon. It'll take a week or two either way.

Man, I can't wait to hold this book in my hands... Thanks, Jesse!

[info]gomichan

You have a very good point! I just posted in RHQ with a handy link Seebs found for finding the best prices near you, wherever you are. I feel sorta silly for not thinking of that before. ;p

And... no, thank YOU! ^_^

Yay!!

Just ordered mine from Amazon.co.uk. Should be arriving in about two weeks, then I can drool like the happy chappy I am in the comfort of me own (padded) room.

Congratulations on your first publication!

SO um...you make the most if we buy from where? Because I hear people don't get much from Amazon.

Thu, Aug. 31st, 2006 09:24 pm (UTC)
[info]gomichan

I get the most if people order from Lulu, but the difference is less than a dollar for me, so just order from wherever ships cheapest to your location. :)

Or if you really feel like doing me a favor, ask your local bookstore to order it for you, and maybe they'll start stocking it. ^_^

I BOUGHT THE BOOK! I THINK! I never knew with online purchases, since I have at least two different addresses. Still, I think I am OK. I've felt like such a bad fan for so long because I hadn't read the whole thing. Reading tons of text online makes my eyes hurt something fierce. This will come to my home, my very HOME, and provide me with the awesome.

Rejoice, ye brethren, and expound the sounds of love!

It doubles as a weapon?! Damnn, I'm there!

Tomorrow I'm gonna march down to Barnes and Noble on my lunch break and DEMAND that they order me a copy...oh wait, I don't work tomorrow...ok TUESDAY, I'm gonna go do that. XD

Weeee!!!

Way to get this done sir! I know it's been the source of a lot of stress. You is brave.

[info]lindaseebach: Congratulations!

I'm just delighted that it has finally happened. And two five-star reviews on Amazon practically the first day! Your fans are mobilized.

The bookplate idea is excellent; Glenn Reynolds did it for his book published in March, and I sent Seebs a link to that. Glenn bought some, but they weren't satisfactory and eventually he made his own. Since your studio is well equipped for do-it-yourself printing, you should have no trouble. An adaptation of the cover art would be terrific.

I'll try ordering a copy from Tattered Cover (which has moved, by the way; there's a story about the move on their Web site).

I feel all bloaty with the smugness. But I won't tell anyone why. You already know. Glee!

Ronny's really getting into it, by the way.

He keeps the book in a little airtight box when he's not reading it, so's not to get it dogeared & that kind of thing.

When he's finished, I'm going to put it next to my signed copy of American Gods. Seems only appropriate. :-D

And I got your email about the addy. All fixed now. Woot.

:3 My copy arrived today and there was much glee and book hugging. When I found out you got it published, I had to stifle screams so as not to wake people up. Relatively stifled squealing and squeeing was done, however, as there was just no stopping the glee overload. I'm so happy to have it in hard copy now! I have set forth in pimping the brick to everyone who will read it. Family, friends, hobos on the street... Everyone is loving it, which is good, as if anyone doesn't, well, I'll test out the weapon feature of the book and tell you how it goes. It's a good job I got too impatient to wait for shipping and read it again online, because it's got circulating to do before I sit down and read it myself... But no matter, because Toreth and Warrick are more than sufficient distractions. In that same vein I must bow to you with deep deep thanks for pimping THAT out. Highly ranked on my list of Things I Cannot Live Without, which includes everything you do, as well as Luka's stuff, especially Kagerou. <3 The flood of love just won't stop, like a headwound! Lulu's is officially love, and I'm just sorry you don't make more off the books, because you deserve it. Believe me, no one is whining about the price, and if I hear about it... *smacks book against palm* I'm about to do something slightly illegal, you might want to turn your head a minute.

*worships*

[info]marichigo: expensive?!? try 100 dollars!!!

I finally just gave up and bought it over lulu's website... I don't have a creditcard, so I had to bribe a friend to buy it for me, because when I tried to order it through my local bookstore, the price was almost a hundred effing dollars!!! ONE HUNDRED!!! I hate the danish taxes on books... :(
but now I'll have it soon, unless the taxpeople confiscate it from the mail to make me pay the taxes, so I can make notes in it, and cover it with magic markers...! I looove being a student of literature, I can actually write a paper and an article about this *happy squee* ^_^

I know this is a very old post, but I just thought I'd let you know I've just read The God Eaters and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I've reviewed it on my own journal (copied to Uniquely Pleasurable).

Thanks very much for this story.
